Journaling for Health & Personal Growth

This interactive workshop explores journaling--a tool for developing greater self-awareness, managing stress, and clarifying changes you want and need to make.  Whether writing about life transitions, health, stress, weight management or grief issues, journaling offers a bridge to improved health and well-being.

Current research demonstrates that journal writing can improve your health, coping skills, immune system functioning, cognitive abilities and emotional adaptations to stressful events.  Journaling also fosters a deeper, intuitive connection to the emotional and spiritual dimensions of personal growth.  Combining imaginative writing exercises with mind-body medicine skills, we will explore the healing, creative possibilities of journaling to nurture your personal focus and developing writing voice.

This six-session workshop for new or experienced journal writers includes:

  1. discussion of journaling methods and mind-body medicine practices
  2. relaxation, writing and visualization exercises
  3. shared group support and insights
  4. helpful resource materials
Please bring a notebook or journal and pen.
