Medical Qigong for Health, Healing and Longevity

Qigong (chi kung) translates as “vital energy skill” and is the focal element enhanced via the practice of Medical Qigong. Medical Qigong is one of the major branches of Chinese Medicine, designed to re-balance patterns of energetic disharmony. This healing method utilizes special methods of breathing, postures and creative visualization to cleanse, collect, circulate and store your “life force energy.”

 

In this half-day workshop, students will learn a number of simple techniques that can be done from sitting, standing or moving positions. Emphasis will be placed on building a foundation for health, healing and longevity.

Class members will participate in guided exercises, orchestrating your body, mind and soul into a self-nourishing whole person, strengthening your ability to re-balance patterns of life force energy.

Your workshop instructor will be Arnold Tayam, D.M.Q. (China), a graduate of Beijing’s Haidian University and one of the leading Qigong instructors in the country. Dr. Tayam, director of The Longevity Center of Classical Chinese Medicine and Medical Qigong instructor at Stanford’s Center for Integrative Medicine, has been practicing Clinical Qigong and Chinese Bodywork for more than 20 years. He serves on the board of directors for the National Qigong Association and has been featured in numerous videos and books on Qigong and Tai Chi, including those featuring actor David Carradine.
