Peripherally inserted central catheters (PICCs) and other vascular access devices (VADs) are being placed for all types of intermediate length and long-term IV therapy.
The successful delivery of IV therapy depends upon the nurse understanding how to use and care for them, as well as how to problem-solve catheter-related complications.
This course is designed to meet the learning and skill needs for nurses providing IV therapy for patients with PIC Catheters or any other VADs in all practice settings: in-patient, out-patient, and home care.
This is NOT a PICC insertion class, but provides the necessary background information regarding venous anatomy, VAD maintenance care and complication management, and PICC removal for nurses who intend to take a PICC insertion course.
This class is REQUIRED for any nurses intending to take a PICC INSERTION COURSE by this instructor.
