With the length of inpatient stays decreasing and acuity increasing, how do you formulate aftercare plans?  Why is physical assessment so important in the psychiatric patient?  Do cultures give us clues to the care of these patients?

 

Discover the theories regarding the development of thinking, emotions and behavior of the patient with mental illness.

 

New ways to promote optimal response to treatment will be presented. 

 

Learn more about the social worker’s role with psycho-education, family assessments and discharge planning.

 

This exciting new course, presented by a multidisciplinary team of experts from Stanford Hospital and Clinics, will focus on the care of the psychiatric inpatient.

 

The program includes information for the novice as well as those experienced with the psychiatric patient.
