Day One: Current Treatment Options for Liver Failure
The liver is an organ that performs many critical functions that when it fails, the accompanying complications usually are fatal.
Liver failure results from a variety of causes ranging from chronic diseases as cirrhosis and hepatitis, to fulminant failure secondary to poisonous mushroom ingestion or other toxic substances.
Today there is an increasing repertoire of medical and surgical interventions for its treatment.
Day 1 is designed for healthcare providers caring for patients with liver disease in the acute care and ambulatory settings.
