Day 2:  Current Treatment Options for Renal Failure

This class will focus on renal physiology, the etiology of the disease, and treatment options.

There will be an emphasis on medical management, dialysis and pharmacological advances.

Transplantation tech­niques and related nursing responsibilities will also be discussed.

Psychoso­cial issues and selection criteria surrounding the option for transplantation will be discussed.

The day concludes with a patient panel sharing their transplant experience at Stanford.
