"Share the Road" Event to Launch Bicycle Safety

The collaborative project of Bikes Belong, Stanford University Medical Center, and Silicon Valley Bicycle Coalition aims to promote safety on Bay Area roadways and to generate goodwill between motorists and bicyclists.

When: 10:00 - 10:30am: VIP Community Ride
Where:  Fountain in front of Stanford Hospital & Clinics (grassy area)
 300 Pasteur Drive, Stanford, CA

Speakers will address bicycle safety issues and injury prevention measures.

Individual interviews will be followed by an invitation only Share the Road bike ride. This 3-5 mile community ride includes brief stopovers at major motorists gathering spots-local post office, gas station, car wash, etc. Riders will distribute free bicycle water bottles that include inserted “share the road” information to engage road users in safety discussion and generate goodwill, and a motorist survey to assess motorist response to the goodwill efforts. Contact us for a route map to observe cyclists engaging motorists in discussion.
