The 8th Annual Symposium for Mothers Presents The Shelter of Each Other: Rebuilding Our Families

In her 1999 book, "The Shelter of Each Other: Rebuilding Our Families," Mary Pipher, PhD, issued a clarion call to families to reclaim themselves amidst a culture that glorifies consumerism and cynicism. She provides hope at a time when families are encouraged to look everywhere but to themselves to address the injuries inflicted on them by the broader culture. This morning's program will be an exploration of these themes and in particular, the mother's role in building community and healthy families.

Nancy Cassidy, singer, songwriter and local mother, once again joins the Symposium and draws us into her joyful world of music.
