STANFORD, Calif.--Join sports celebrities, community leaders and cancer survivors for Stanford Hospital’s Village of Champions dinner and auction Sunday evening, July 8th at the Four Seasons Hotel, Silicon Valley East Palo Alto. The event kicks off the annual Fore the Care golf tournament, which is the following day, July 9th at the Stanford University Golf Course. These events raise funds for Stanford Hospital & Clinic’s Cancer Concierge Services, a program committed to changing the global landscape and standard of care for people with cancer.

“The vision of this program is a testament to the power of personal care and its impact on cancer survivors and their families,” says Barbara Ralston, Director of Stanford Hospital & Clinic's Guest Services. “We offer continuity of care to patients and personalized attention throughout their time at Stanford,” says Holly Gautier, R.N., Director of Stanford’s Cancer Concierge Services. “We have about 6,000 to 7,000 patient visits each month, and our services are available absolutely free of charge to all patients and their families.”

Cancer Concierge Services includes education classes, patient navigators, transportation services, support groups, fulfilling wishes, assistance with temporary housing, scheduling appointments, and assistance with insurance issues.

This year’s Celebrity Co-Chairs are Gary Plummer and Dave Stewart. Mr. Plummer holds a Super Bowl Championship ring, and is well-known for his SF 49ers color commentary. Oakland A’s pitcher, Dave Stewart, is the winner of 3 World Series championships and was voted World Series MVP in 1989.
